About me
My name is Aidan Reynolds. I'm a senior at Santa Susana High School in Simi Valley, CA. Ever since I was child, I have been fascinated with the inner workings of the world. Everything from diverse ecosystems to unique geological formations have piqued my interest and curiosity. My inquisitive personality has led me to enjoy learning about everything related to science. In the four years I have been at SSHS, I have learned a tremendous amount about science, thanks to my wonderful teachers. Biology, chemistry, and anatomy classes have fostered my academic growth and have driven my determination to carry out this project. In addition to these subjects, I have enhanced my knowledge and interest in world culture through the four years of Spanish classes I have taken, in which I have learned not only about the language, but of the global cultures that shape our modern society.

Why did I choose this topic?
"Endeavors of the Teenage Mind" revolves around scientific inquiry with a special emphasis on world culture, and its effects on the scientific community. I chose these topics because these are the subjects that I am most interested in. Throughout my high school career I have taken classes specifically to further my interest and knowledge around science and global cultures. I wanted to structure my senior project as a conglomeration of the two topics. To me, culture and science are the most impactful and meaningful aspects of our world, defining our social and physical surroundings. I personally believe that it is integral for students to be knowledgeable in these topics in order to ensure a bright future for humanity and the Earth.
What will I learn from this project?
I will utilize my journey with the project as a learning opportunity, to grow academically in scientific subjects and establish a stronger understanding of the connection between world culture and science. As I have not had an Earth science class during my years as a SSHS student, I predict I will learn a substantial amount about this scientific subject. I will strengthen my knowledge in subjects I am already familiar with, including the scientific method and biology. With the help of my incredibly respectable and qualified mentor, I will also learn about the effects of world culture and multiculturalism on the scientific community. I will research the importance of these subjects, especially in regards to current events and modern society, to establish a better understanding of their relevance. Most importantly, I will learn how to break down complicated and abundant information into teachable material, in order to compress my research into short, fun, digestible lessons.
